DISTANCES

Online registration is now closed. Onsite registration will be available at packet pickup Thursday and Friday, April 18 & 19.

Sprint Distance
The sprint distance features a 750m swim, a 20km bike and a 5km run. You may also choose to participate, if you qualify, in one of the special race categories: 2013 USA Triathlon Club National Championship, Military Challenge, or Corporate Challenge. There is no additional fee for entering these categories.

 

Olympic Distance
The Olympic distance features a 1.5km swim, a 40km bike and a 10km run. You may also choose to participate, if you qualify, in one of the special categories: 2013 USA Triathlon Club National Championship, Military Challenge, or Corporate Challenge. There is no additional fee for entering these categories.


Relay Olympic Distance

The relay is part of the Olympic distance race and features a 1.5km swim, a 40km bike, and a 10km run. You can compete as a team of two or three athletes (male, female or co-ed), with each athlete competing in one or two legs of the race (swim, bike or run).
The team captain has to register the team and cover the registration cost; the other two team members are required to register but will not be charged again.
 

Aquabike
Aquabike is offered for the Olympic distance only and features a 1.5km swim and a 40km bike. Aquabike participants can have their race results count towards the 2013 USA Triathlon Nation Club Championship. There is no additional fee for entering the Club National Championship.

 

Paratriathlon
The event will feature a Paratriathlon division. Additional information coming soon.


Packet Pick-Up
If you cannot make packet-pickup on Thursday, April 18 or Friday, April, 19, there is a $30 VIP Packet Pick-Up option when you register for the event. If you have already registered and need to purchase the VIP Packet Pick-Up, please email registration.

SPECIAL RACE CATEGORIES

All age group athletes may be eligible to compete in one of three challenges. If you are eligible, you will be ranked in both your distance /age group and in the Challenge you chose. You may only compete in ONE Challenge.

Military Challenge
Compete against fellow athletes in the armed services. To be eligible, you must be an active member or veteran of the United States Military in the divisions Army, Navy, Air Force, Marines, Coast Guard and Merchant Marine. Simply check the military challenge box on the registration form and choose your military affiliation to sign up. There is no additional fee to register for this category.

Corporate Challenge
The Corporate Challenge at the 2013 Omegwave World Triathlon San Diego is a great opportunity for companies to promote teamwork, work/life balance and a healthy and active lifestyle to their employees. Participating in a social activity outside of the workplace helps co-workers build strong and positive relationships. Make your employer the fittest company in town and sign up for the Corporate Challenge.
To be eligible, a corporate team must have at least 7 members. There is no maximum number of teammates and no additional fee to register for this category. Simply select the Corporate Challenge and don’t forget to add your company name.

Race Rules and Regulations

All age group races are sanctioned by and will be held under the rules and regulations of USA Triathlon. All age-group races are non-drafting. Only the elite races are draft-legal. A complete set of rules can be found here.

Registration and Participant Policies

By registering, all athletes agree to the following registration policies:

  • There are NO REFUNDS, ROLLOVERS, DEFERALS or BIB TRANSFERS. No exceptions!
  • For the sprint distance, the registered athlete has to be 16 or older as of December 31, 2013.
  • For the Olympic distance, the athlete has to be 18 or older as of December 31, 2013.
  • Each athlete has to pick up his or her own race packet. Bikes have to be racked at the communicated times. No exceptions.
