The ITU-sanctioned Paratriathlon race will be contested on the Age Group Sprint distance course which features a 750m swim, a 20km bike and a 5km run. All athletes who are looking to compete in this race need to have an ITU confirmed classification. If an athlete does not have this, they will need to attend a classification appointment on April 18th or 19th. ITU will reach out to each NF to schedule appointments and provide necessary documentation and information.
All athletes wishing to compete in the ITU Paratriathlon race need to register through their National Federation. The registration cost is $150 per athlete.

For USA athletes, you need to submit a completed application to Amanda Duke (Amanda.Duke@usatriathlon.org), USA Triathlon Paratriathlon Program Manager, no later than March 17th. To obtain the application, click here: Please note that athletes cannot simply register online through the Active.com Age Group registration. All entries for ITU Paratriathlon races need to go through USA Triathlon. ITU sanctioned events have a preliminary registration cap of 8 athletes per gender per category for the host nation. If the quota is exceeded in a particular category/gender then USAT will prioritize the list based on prior results and podium potential. Athletes who do not make the Paratriathlon start list are able to race in the PC Open division.
Physically Challenged (PC) Open division
The PC Open race will be contested on the Age Group Sprint Distance course which features a 750m swim, a 20km bike and a 5km run. Athletes compete in this race do NOT need to have an ITU or USAT confirmed classification. Any disabled athlete who does not wish to follow the ITU rules and/or does not fit into the 7 ITU Paratriathlon categories can race in this division. Registration is $150.
